About Me

I'm Geeta Shankar, a Carnatic vocalist and veena artist who has been immersed in the world of South Indian classical music since the age of four. Music has been my constant companion, teacher, and way of life — a thread that weaves through every stage of my journey.

I’m currently under the tutelage of the esteemed Sangita Kalanidhi Vidwan Shri Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan, learning both vocal and veena in the traditional Carnatic style. His mentorship continues to deepen my understanding of the sacred nuances and emotional depth that this music carries — especially in life’s most meaningful moments, like weddings.
